Once again, the publication Best Lawyers has named J. Guthrie True among its “Lawyer of the Year” winners for the Lexington area. This year, Best Lawyers honored Mr. True as its Lawyer of the Year in two categories: Criminal Defense: General Practice and Criminal Defense: White Collar.
Best Lawyers bases its prestigious annual awards entirely on peer review. Nominations for Lawyers of the Year come from clients, fellow attorneys and legal marketing teams. Best Lawyers then has attorneys in each U.S. metro area vote based on several practice areas. Only one lawyer wins Lawyer of the Year per category. A Kentucky native, Mr. True has practiced criminal defense law since 1984 with a focus on white-collar crime. Along with his numerous recognitions from Best Lawyers, he has been rated as a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters and as a Top 50 attorney by Kentucky Super Lawyers. U.S. News and World Report honored Mr. True with several awards, including Best Lawyers in Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense: General Practice, Criminal Defense: White Collar, and Lawyer of the Year for the Lexington, Kentucky, area.
