Fall in a home improvement store results in lawsuit

On Behalf of | Apr 19, 2021 | Personal Injury |

Those who live and work around the town of Frankfort, Kentucky are privileged to have an abundance of stores, restaurants and other public establishments where they can shop and dine at their convenience. These businesses are required by law to provide a safe and hazard-free environment for all visitors lawfully on the property. However, things such as wet walkways, poor lighting or objects left on floors can cause a customer to fall and suffer personal injury.

Customer suffers a fall

Recently, a woman in another state filed a lawsuit after she allegedly fell in a home improvement store due to a wet floor. According to the lawsuit, the woman was shopping in the store and visited the bathroom. The woman said, while in the bathroom, she encountered a pool of water on the floor that caused her to slip and fall.

Lawsuit filed

The lawsuit claimed the woman was seriously injured due to the fall. The woman seeks to hold the store responsible, alleging that employees negligently allowed the water to remain on the floor and failed to provide warning of the dangerous conditions. The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages for her alleged injuries as well as all just relief.

Tragically, thousands of people across the country are injured every year as the result of hazards and dangerous conditions in public establishments. Those in Kentucky who suffer personal injury due to the negligence of another party reserve the right to take legal action and file a claim in civil court. A lawsuit, if successful, could provide victims and families with much-needed financial relief to help with medical expenses and lost wages.
