Police claim the arrest occurred after a traffic stop on a state highway. A deputy on patrol said that he noticed a vehicle driving on the highway that crossed over the center line more than once.
He says he pulled the car over and used a K-9 officer to conduct an exterior search of the vehicle. The K-9 allegedly gave a positive reaction, resulting in the deputy searching the vehicle’s interior.
The deputy claims he found several grams of suspected methamphetamine, along with scales and baggies that could constitute drug paraphernalia. The woman driving the vehicle was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance. She entered a plea of not guilty and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
