Two injured in car accident with log truck

On Behalf of | Aug 19, 2020 | Personal Injury |

Life can change in an instant and not always for the better, unfortunately. Anyone who has ever been affected by a car accident can attest to this fact, especially if the crash resulted in injury or someone’s death. A recent crash here in Kentucky likely changed several lives, after two people suffered serious injuries in a collision involving a semi-truck.

Examining the accident

Kentucky State Police say the crash happened on a recent early afternoon on a state route. A semi-truck heading south with a load of logs allegedly crossed over the centerline and then overcorrected. Authorities say this action caused the truck’s load to shift and fall into the oncoming lane. A car traveling north was apparently hit by the load.

The driver of the vehicle and a passenger suffered serious injuries. They both had to be airlifted to a nearby hospital. There is no word on the condition of the truck driver or whether he or she may face charges in connection with the incident. Police also haven’t mentioned any potential contributing factors, such as distracted or drowsy driving.

A car accident involving a large commercial truck like this one is more likely to result in serious injury to anyone affected. The women and their families may decide to file a personal injury claim in connection with this crash as a means of seeking to hold the truck driver or anyone else deemed responsible accountable.

Such a claim could result in monetary damages that may help cover related expenses such as medical bills. Kentucky families who have questions about this process can talk to a personal injury attorney to learn more.
